The JEST group has decided to publicly expose your hidden pleasures. The phenomenon of guilty pleasure speaks to the fact that we feel we shouldn't like it, and yet... There's so much of it that we didn't know what to latch onto. So, it just thematically turned out that we would delve into the mainstream because, whatever else, our generation is immersed in it. People spend 8 hours a day at work and are generally stressed about life. So, we think to ourselves, why reach for ambitious content when it requires another intellectual effort from us? Instead, we have Netflix and especially YouTube, where we can immerse ourselves in the world of easy and light entertainment. It's interesting that these are massively viewed contents and at the same time, they are part of our intimate lives because we feel ashamed when engaging with them. People often browse gossip websites, for example. And what's it all about? Why do we want to know what's happening in the private lives of other people, whether they're famous or not? Such scrolling through gossip brings us the momentary illusion that we see and know everything. It's tied to a sense of power, albeit temporary and illusory, but still some form of it. At the core of the success of various types of reality shows, there's even something religious. We have the impression that guilty pleasure content is actually an undisguised perversion. We watch, but in reality, we are fascinated by peering into something so different from our normal everyday life. A strange ecosystem based on shame and pleasure simultaneously emerges between the viewers and the creators. It's strange that there is indeed such a demand for such things, but there is. It's interesting to wonder about the price of the popularity of such Kardashians and whether they are happy. With the money they rake in, they probably are, and that's it. As Paulo Coelho writes, "Be like a spring, not like a pond where the same water always stands
