Authored tattoos designed for people who are looking for unusu- al designs, unparalleled on the tattoo market in Poland: tattoos are patriotic and at the same time girlish. Eagle, „Poland” and other patriotic symbols are juxtaposed with a butterfly or a heart in the belief that love for the homeland and a symbol of strength do not have to be reflected in the image of a sword. Instead of a sword - an eagle with a flower of „teenager” aesthetics. Girls’ patriotic tattoos are an unusual combination of two poetics contrasting in culture - the anarcho-feminist narrative characteristic of the left-wing environments with national myths that appear in the discourse of nationalist circles.
The impulse for demystifying the stereotype about patriotic tattoos was for me the concept of anti-war activities by Krzysztof Wodiczko - based on introducing into the public discourse the anti-war culture.
